How it works

It work by killing germs (bacteria) that cause infections. Fucidin is used to treat infections such as infections of the skin and wounds, infections of the blood such as septicaemia, infections of the bone and heart tissue, infections of the lungs such as pneumonia, infections connected with the condition cystic fibrosis.

Side Effects

Vomiting , stomach pain or discomfort , heartburn, fatigue , diarrhoea , drowsiness , headache , pale stools , dark urine , upper right hand side stomach pain , loss of appetite and itchy rashes.

Drug Interactions

Not recommended to use with statins. If taken with oral anti-coagulants patient will likely to bleed more easily.It may interact with medicines used to treat HIV (e.g. ritonavir or saquinavir).

Indication

Used to treat bacterial infections like Staphylococcal infections.

When not to Use

It is not recommended if You have liver problems or recently been jaundiced, have a blockage or a problem with your bile duct, e.g. gallstones , if you are taking some medicines called HIV-Protease Inhibitors used to treat the HIV virus.

Precaution

Taking this medicine and statins at the same time may lead to muscle weakness, tenderness or pain. If taken with oral anti-coagulants patient will likely to bleed more easily.It may interact with medicines used to treat HIV (e.g. ritonavir or saquinavir).

Warning 1

If taken with oral anti-coagulants patient will likely to bleed more easily.

Warning 2

Don't use this medicine concommitantly with 'STATINS' (the medicines to lower cholesterol).

Warning 3

It is not recommended if you have a blockage of bile duct.
